Today I had the privilege of training my team on the Law of Sowing and Reaping.
One of the powerful lessons we explored came from the life of Isaac, the son of Abraham.
The Bible tells us in Genesis 26:12 that..
“Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him.”
Notice something remarkable: Isaac planted before he harvested. There was no harvest without first sowing the seed.
The same principle applies in business and in life.
If you desire growth, you must consistently sow the right seeds. In business, your seeds are the income-generating activities that are within your control.
These include:
- Prospecting for new clients.
- Marketing and advertising your products or services.
- Building genuine relationships.
- Presenting your offer with confidence.
- Closing business opportunities.
- Following up consistently and professionally.
You cannot control when a prospect will decide to buy or say “yes” to being part of your opportunity. However, you can control how faithfully you sow.
Many people pray for a harvest while neglecting the field. They expect results without consistently planting seeds. But God’s principle has never changed: the harvest follows the sowing.
As Scripture reminds us in Galatians 6:7 that:
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”
And again in 2 Corinthians 9:6
“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”
Keep sowing. Keep serving. Keep showing up. Keep making the calls, sending the messages, creating value, and following up.
Your responsibility is to sow faithfully. God is responsible for the increase.
The harvest may not come immediately, but if you refuse to quit, it will surely come. As the Bible encourages us in Galatians 6:9:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
I also reminded the team that even when results are not showing now, we need to keep on planting and watering the field. Growth is not immediately visible. I learnt this principle from the Chinese Bamboo tree which takes more than 1-4 years before growth can be visible above the ground.
I encourage you reading this post that
Never stop planting.
Every great harvest begins with a single seed, faithfully sown.
